Whisky
If you're looking to make Rob very happy with a gift, Rob likes whisky. There are three sorts of whisky in the world:
- Proper whisky made in Scotland.
- Whisky made in Scotland by mixing other whiskies together and then adding rubbing alcohol.
- Whisky made badly in other countries.
Rob likes the first sort: Single malt Scots whisky, particularly Islay whiskies.
Rob doesn't like blended whiskies, and he doesn't like Irish or Canadian whisky either. He is profoundly uninterested in bourbon or other American whiskies. If you have no idea what that means, then just go somewhere that sells whisky and look for bottles that say Laphroaig, Macallan or Talisker. If Rob has recently saved your first-born child from drowning, you may consider Lagavulin, but be warned it is splendidly expensive and not at all expected.
If you arrive at Rob's house with whisky, you will be expected to help drink it. If you're not sure if you like whisky, then you are strongly advised to come to Rob's house and drink his whisky first, rather than wasting your own money on something you might not even like.
Contrary to what you may have learned from Swingers, If it has "Glen" in the name, it is probably bad and Rob will not like it very much (but you should always double down on eleven).
